Looking for a Summer Liveaboard in - Oakland / Alameda / Richmond / Sausalito

Hi,

I've been a long sailing enthusiast and have just moved back to the Bay Area for the summer and would like to rent or maybe buy a sailboat for the summer and liveaboard it. I'm thinking I would most like to moor it in Oakland or Alameda or perhaps Sausalito or Richmond.

I'd love it if anyone knew someone renting their boat for this purpose or any suggestions on good harbors to go check out. I understand that getting a liveaboard can be tough in the Bay Area.

Would be grateful for any good tips or suggestions.

Thanks,
Charlie

Marina Bay in richmond has liveaboard slips available, no waiting. I was there 3 years, its pretty nice. D or E docks are the best.

Thanks for the tip sailorchic, I checked out Marina Bay and it is really nice and may work out well. Its pretty reasonably priced too. I think I was hoping to rent a boat but it looks like I'll need to buy one. I hear there are great deals at some auctions right now. My budget is 7 or 8K. Not a lot but I think I should be able to buy a decent boat for that. If anyone has any suggestions on boat auctions too that would be much appreciated.

Have a wonderful day, lets hope it warms up soon for some nice sailing.

I've a girl friend who's boat, think its a cal 30, who is going to sell it. Its at Marina Bay and was already approved for liveaboard. She has to move to SoCal to take care of her mother. Think she's looking for $6k. I've been in it and it looks pretty good, New DC panel and wiring, A/C panel & wiring is newer. Has an atomic 4 that looks ok, I've seen it run.

Probably needs some work, but its a boat and they all do.

PM me and I'll give you her contact info.
