Looking for a boat

I'm currently looking at a Columbia 45 center cockpit sloop to liveaboard, any thoughts pro or con will be appreciated.

We looked at the Columbia yesterday with 2 of the grandkids and loved her. The grandkids both gave her thumbs up (of course they just love boats) and miss our old one since we sold it and moved onto dirt. Now it is a matter of settling the deal, doing a survey, and moving back aboard.

This should be interesting since we had sold the old sailboat and lived on a powerboat for years. Now back to a sailboat, although this is more of a motorsailor. Anyway keeping my fingers across that soon I will be rocked to sleep again by the waves. Even after years on the dirt I miss the wave action at night.

We've found a slip and have done all our advanced work in that area. Finding the right boat is always a major quest in any of these endeavors. We think the Columbia will be a good choice and it definitely clicks all the things on the checklist. So wish us luck and hopefully we’ll come to a good deal for us and the seller.

I have a close friend who also owns a Columbia 45. They are liveaboards and love the space and room. The sailing performance is surprisingly good for a motorsailer! Great round the world/ capable cruising boat.
