Living aboard in Grenada..Questions

Hello All,

My wife, little one, and I have tossed around the idea of buying a sailboat and living aboard. While we have yet to make that leap, I recently got into medical school in Grenada and we are once again thinking hard. We have never lived aboard a sailboat so therefore we would like to rent for a term and experience the pleasures and displeasures to see if this is truly for us. Does anyone know if this would be a moderately sane proposal? Also, is it a possibility to rent a sailboat as you would a house? Are there any specifics about living aboard in Grenada that would hinder us?

Thanks!

Re: Living aboard in Grenada..Questions

Not sure if there is an off season in the charter industry there, but you could ask and see if you could negotiate a bargain. Still... wouldn't be cheap! I imagine just a 3 week charter without going anywhere would give you a pretty good idea:
* getting laundry done back and forth to the boat.
* getting groceries/garbage back and forth to the boat
* getting water to the boat.
* Heat, humidity, dampness
* safety procedure for the little one.
etc
