Liveaboards Around Washington, DC ?

Hello everyone.
I just wanted to know the status and cost of liveaboards around Washington,DC. Everything I have seen posted online is several years old. I understand there is a marina in D.C. on the Potomac river "gangplank" that has liveaboards, but one post said the waiting list is 4 years. There must be other marinas down river or even out on the Chesapeake Bay. Can anyone tell me the marinas, and the costs/availability/etc.? (I recently had my wife tell me she wants a divorce, and I have always had "a hankering" as my dear departed father would say, to be near the water. I lived in D.C. some 20 years ago and remember reading an article about the liveaboards that really struck a nerve with me. Of course when I told my wife/soon to be ex-wife/ she said "oooh, what about the safety when the kids visit, blah, blah, blah..." ARRGH, I am so much more adventurous then she is, which is one of the many reasons we don't get along. I would rather burn up than die a slow death in some boring suburban life. ) Sorry about the rant, enough about me. Tell me about your situation if you are near Washington, DC! Many thanks!

hope this isn't too off topic or too old a thread, but if you are living aboard because you are getting a divorce, you will be a hot item for all the divorcee women who dumped their "boring" hubbies in search of the exciting guy you really are. ... yawn...

check on the other shore in Alexandria. I can't remember the marina--I moved away from there in 1984, but there was a liveaboard community in one of the marinas back then. The commute over the 14th Street Bridge was ugly, but doable.
