Liveaboard Marina's in Ft. Walton Beach, FL

Does anyone know of any liveaboard marinas in Ft. Walton Beach, FL? Looking online is not yielding many results... Anywhere from Pensacola, FL to Destin, FL would do... thank you!

The one at Pensacola beach has an opening. Well did in December. Most in the area are not taking liveaboards anymore. I lucked out still working on getting my sailboat but they did not concider me a liveaboard because I work out of town 14 days a month.

Thanks outrigger... Where is the marina at Pensacola Beach? Bahia Mar and Baylen slips (next to Palafox Pier) used to accept liveaboards but I think they may be changing that due to a recent bad experience... we have actually found one in Ft. Walton Beach... Shalimar Yacht Basin is one of the only places that legally accepts liveaboards along the Emerald Coast.

My husband works out of town 2 weeks every month as well... he is a Supply Boat Captain for the rigs in the gulf... his office is in Galliano but he mostly works out of Cameron or Fourchon.... do you do something similar?

Try Bluewater Bay marina in Niceville -- right across the bay from Destin.

There is the Shalimar Yacht Basin in Shalimar which is right near Ft Walton Beach, which is a very nice marina, and liveaboards are welcome! Nice people too!

Liveaboards on Pensacola Beach are hard to come by. I to am a supply boat captain in the gulf but work a 28/14. We have our cat on the beach and the wife loves it there. There are a couple Liveaboard marinas in Bayou Chico in Pensacola. One being pelicans perch marina, if they don't have any slips bill might have a idea of others.

A little further east, Panama City, city marina welcomes liveaboards. $125 a month extra

Bayou Chico in Pensacola is not taking liveaboards right now. It is I think the only marina in the area that if a storm is coming you dont have to haul out. Thats where Im shooting for. He said since im only their 14 days Im not considered a liveaboard. My only thought is if Im at work and a hurricane is headed that way its a protected harbor. Has happened twice already. Still working on getting my boat but have looked into everything I could think of.

Re: Liveaboard Marina's in Ft. Walton Beach, FL

Suggest a helpful lens to find live aboard space is to see the NW FL region as a series of large bays starting from the west with Pensacola Bay, Escambia, East, Santa Rosa sound, Choctawhatchee plus more as you look eastward into Panama City. Destin itself is a peninsula bordered to the north by Choctawhatchee and to the south by the Gulf. There is a predominance of residential waterside development plus a good number of commercial establishments. A fantastic part of the US cruising grounds.
