Liveaboard Marina in Virginia

Near Gloucester, Newport News, Hampton, Portsmouth area.

Not looking for luxury. Looking for Cheap. Showers, water, and pumpout, power hookup are all that is needed.

My limit is no more than $200/mo for liveaboard. (30ish feet)

The York River Yacht Haven is a very nice facility. They might be a bit more than your budget, but not much.

Leeward Marina in Newport News is a municipal, I'm paying 175 slip and electric for a 28..they have a liveaboard chrage..not sure off the top of my head what it is, but as I understand they are a little lax about it..unless you are a problem child or having your mail delivered...The marina is scrupulously clean, showers always hot and the people are friendly...I don't liveaboard, but I am by there most evenings..C dock
3rd on the right..If you drop in come say hi!

Thanks Don. Do you have any experience with the 'lax' liveaboard fee?

Also, is that 40' Graham on craigslist for $9,400 in Leeward Marina?

If you intend owning a boat and living aboard in a marina and cannot affor to pay what is less than $25 a week for a liveaboard fee I would question whether you can afford to own and maintain a boat! Also, be prepared, the marina will also require you to have insurance and to have a boat maintained in an operable condition.

I looked at my first sailboats the other day. Was surprised at the room below on a 26.5' boat.

The Graham is beautiful, but is too big and too much risk for my first sailboat. I would like something a little smaller, so when maintenance issues pop up it won't overwhelm me.

My goal is something with a holding tank, 30ish or so.
