Liveaboard in West Palm Beach

I just got a job offer in West Pslm Beach, FL. Does anyone know of a marina near there that allows liveaboards?

thanks,

Tim

Riviera Beach Marina allows live-aboards but there is usually a LONG waiting list.
their tightening things up around there as I've heard of a couple of boats being evicted recently.

Try Palm Harbor Marina, right in downtown WPB. I'm not sure if they have a wait list or not, but it's a great location.

I am looking for the same thing, and it seems that Delray allows liveaboards. Will you repost here with the results of your search? We are moving there in a few years, and hope to spend next summer living aboard there. Thanks!

Also, this site can be helpful:

Good luck!

Re: Liveaboard in West Palm Beach

Same issue here. My wife just got a job offer as a travel nurse working right in west palm and we are having a tough time finding a place to live on the boat. Anyone know of any liveaboard friendly marinas? Delray is full and Palm
harbor is exorbitant

Re: Liveaboard in West Palm Beach

Anywhere down near Miami is tough to find. I would say West Palm Beach would be worse. I lived aboard my boat for a year in Miami, in a non-live aboard marina by permission of the harbor master. "He said, you can live aboard until the day it looks like you're living aboard."

That seems to be the policy at a lot of places down there.

Check with local brokers about moorage behind someone's house on a back waterway.

Is this for real? I feel like brokers would laugh at me if I asked to put my boat behind their clients house.

Re: Liveaboard in West Palm Beach

BOAT BROKERS...Not their clients houses. They know places to put boats so they can be nearby and they can sell them. There are a lot of back waterways in FL.. lived aboard in a couple of them. Didn't live aboard in West Palm for long, but left a boat behind someone's house for about 1.5 years while selling. Everytime I went to maintain the boat, the owner didn't care if I was staying aboard. In fact he invited us for dinner, drinks and to swim in their indoor pool with them!

Check out Lake Park Municipal Marina. Safe, clean, 24 7 security. Just north of Riviera Beach (Combat zone) and borders North Palm beach. They have great stuff nearby. call Ken (Manager)

Lots of room and good long term rates.
