Liveaboard in Texas?

Hello fellow Liveaboards!
I'm thinking of taking a job in Houston, Tx and would like to know if Texas allows liveaboards and any special rules I might need to know about. If you can recommend a good marina that would be great also. Thank you in advance!

No trouble with live aboards in Tx. I like Bayland Marina in Baytown.

Where in Houston would the job be?

The reason I ask is that some of the commutes from water to job can make you want to claw your face off.

Re: Liveaboard in Texas?

A lot of liveaboard marina's in the Houston area. Kemah has several. If your offshore in the patch, you might check Galveston. I've stayed at Harborwalk Marina in Hitchcock, just across the water from Galveston. As far as rules, be a good dock neighbor!

Ah, I just reread and see you have a 31' boat. Some marina's have limits on size, as in nothing smaller than 40' for liveaboard, but make some calls.

That's amazing, I'm hanging on by my fingernails, as are a lot of other people I know!

I can recommend the Watergate Marina in Kemah. Very nice and liveaboard friendly. Good hurricane hole as well.
