Dating is possible - I have already proved that. Just need to keep your eyes open, but don't become too desperate.

If you throw in "under 30", it seems to exempt all of the afore-mentioned places to meet good woman from being a viable possibility. Any tips on where to meet "cruise-willing" women with less mileage on them?

They'd have to be OK with a 30' boat, or have a larger one of their own. It'll be a stoutly-equipped boat since most of the deck gear and sail controls are off my 35' boat that sank...

You can find women that meet your requirements in the bars and restaurants in Luperon, DR.

I suppose "Not in the US" is the generally accepted wisdom?

....or other countries I found recently. It seems people who want to crew, even romantically, soon loose the zest for joining up shortly after the wanderlust dream wears off and they are back to the comfort of their little secure world where they do not have to be challenged. I know for myself, I will not compromise my dream for someone else.

Main problem would be their passport for travel.....but plusses as well as minuses to that .

At the risk of blowing my image as a PC new age caring sharing kinda guy , nonetheless IMO much merit in the basic premise of that approach......skip the independently wealthy go getting etc end of the market and dangle your hook amongst those for whom sitting in the sun even in a floating closet sized space is wayyyy better than their life ashore has been and likely will be..........And unless America has acheived Utopia in recent times my bet is that it is simply a numbers game requiring time, effort and boots on the ground (and maybe some internet!)......of course that approach might well require some capital investment at the start plus time and effort in helping them "Get with the program", but no reason why they can't later prove to be self-supporting. at least. and if you actually crack the passport thing for the DR bar style approach and are fairly relaxed about where (and how ) the money comes from, then maybe even a bit better than ok .

I had one woman tell me I was one step away from homeless....let's see, I paid 150k cash for my boat, she was renting a room...perceptions

Which is why it would be a good idea for you to at least state what country you live in - it's an international forum after all.

Yeah sure, .... right up to when the first rough water starts, or they have to deal with a pump out heads, or realise how restricted a galley can be, or you get a rolly night on the hook, or ............. or ................ or

Just go with the flow man. Some day some chick worth her salt might just pop out of the woodwork, ... and if not, so what!

Re: Liveaboard Dating

I charter my own boat and offer gourmet meals. Ive pumped many a bilge. fixed the engine and even fix the wind indicator top the mast. Juryrigged when someting breaks. My Daddy God rest his soul fully prepared me for this from age 3. How mANY OF YOU WERE TIED TO A MAST WITH A 4 FT ROPE?? so you didnt fall over? lol FOR REALS?? Any sailor would love me in their back pocket. To back into our slip at age 8 he made me do it one rainy day for 8 hours. I was able to dock it better than him after that. I probably have better tool boxes. More than shoes. Dont get me wrong my wardrobe is not lacking. After all it has to fit in a duffel right? Its not what you have its how you wear it.! Thanks for the encouragement tho. Rainy windy weather??? Im a east coast gal. Not Afraid....

I met my husband 15 years ago through an online ad. He was upfront about his living arrangements before we even met. Seems as though he did plenty of dating before me. I don't think the boat is an issue as long as its well maintained and tidy. You wouldn't want to bring a date home to a dirty unkempt house either. For a lot of women it might even be a plus.
