Yes darli'n, it is very simple. If ya don't BS anyone, ya don't get stuck with what ya don't want. Of course you may want your boat set up to single hand since the dog does not have thumbs.

Boatman61. Yep so do I ! I was on my way from Ireland to Spain and the dumb Irish blonde compained that 'people speak funny here' then went home. Met a super French girl and we've been cruising 4 and a half years, doesn't complain if we get caught in bad weather, views the coutryside as a menu = bilges are full of goodies.
Hang on in there, dump the sports car, BBQ the dog and go cruising.

I suspect somehow that barbequing the dog is not an option?

Re: Liveaboard Dating

Thank you Bruce. I will sell the sports car, but Aleutia goes or I don't. Our third day on board our newly acquired CT-41, he has already figured out how to get down the ladder without bumping his nose and has taken up his security duty.

Re: Liveaboard Dating

ct 41 is plenty large enough for a dog. and a human. actually, is large enough for both to reside comfortably. go for it.

might want to make a hoist for goggie so the high freeboard isnt an issue.....just in case---glad goggie is able to board these boats--you will enjoy your new life!!

Re: Liveaboard Dating

Hi Zee,

I just sent you a message to your Yahoo address with a couple questions.

Boat is plenty big enough for not only me and my dog, but also crew temporarily during passages.

Me and Aleutia are already loving it. Today was his first day on security duty by himself while I went into town. When on board, he growls softly to let me know when people walk by and barks loud when someone is on the dock making strange noises. Stops immediately when I tell him OK. He is adapting quickly and I feel like I am in college - all day dedicated to learning about my boat and working on neglected stuff.

I wake up in the morning and love the beautiful craftsmanship of my new home. I consider myself a pretty good carpenter, but the guy who built this boat (along with his family and apprentices) was a REAL craftsman! I think one of the differences between people who ridicule these boats and those who love them is the difference in personality between those who like craftsman built stuff and those who like Home Depot's best stamped out products.

Re: Liveaboard Dating

The best heater I have found for temperate climates is a pleasantly plump boat bunny under a goose down comforter or two in the vee berth. That's cozy.
