Re: Liveaboard Dating

I almost gave up the dream on my first boat. I let her sit for a couple years for a variety of reasons. When I started dating my ex she didn't even know I had a boat and was ecstatic when she found out. The first time we went out there together we ended up staying the night unplanned and we did the necessary clean-up and repair to make her liveable and seaworthy. We ended up living together in my apartment and when the lease was up we decided to move on board my old 26 Pearson. It was a bit tight with two of us plus her cat but it wasn't bad. We split up and reconciled a few times and I pretty much gave her the boat and she is still living aboard on anchor.

I've met a few girls who have lived aboard at some point in their, only one who did it alone but at a marina. It is a cool life and most girls I meet are intrigued. I am not going to give up my lifestyle for anyone.

Re: Liveaboard Dating

The problem with finding single women in Florida is that all of them are crazy - Florida Crazy. I have a 45ft Columbia that I am refitting and would love to have a live in girl friend. But so far in the Keys its been slim pickens. Go on POF there's like 5 total in Marathon. I'm in Philly on a job and the same radius gives me over 1000. So far no takers to move down. They want me to stay here though.

I've met 3 girls who have lived aboard in Key West. Maybe you just need to take a little sail south ...

Once she is back in the water Im either going down to KW or up to Key Largo. When Im home I live on 30ft Iroquois Cat until the C45 is done.

I always go to Hollywood beach when I visit. It's the est one in the tri-county area, in my opinion.

All this talk of S. Fla is making me terribly homesick.

Re: Liveaboard Dating

I spend 6 months of the year sailing and living aboard in the Sea of Cortez and the balance at "home" or traveling. Difficult (so far impossible) to find a gal with that much freedom or desire for the lifestyle...
They must be out there. Finding them is the rub...

Ahhh... I see your point. I have the desire, the freedom... not so much. Tied to making a living on land, but as soon as I figure out how to make a living aboard, I'm all in! I sure hope there will be a man out there for me when I finally figure it out.

Re: Liveaboard Dating

I met my wife on a boat show where I was working. She mentioned to a common friend that she would love to live on a boat and my friend introduced me. 12 years later we are still living on a boat together.
