live on board in San Diego

I am interested to rent a live on board in San Diego.

Anyone have any ideas on how I could go about this?

Good luck with it but every marina I've ever had a boat in had rules against renting out your boat. They'd let people have someone "house sit" the boat but never knew of any that permitted rentals.

There is actually a provision in most slip leases, at least on Harbor Island, prohibiting this practice. I spent over 12 years living aboard in the area and never heard of anyone doing anything but boatsitting. Capt Phil

We have friends down there and one has been there eight yrs and nothing...! They are at the free anchorage with some other friends of ours. The wait list is ti long. I just checked at Moss landing and they even have a one yr wait,. But they have temp slips for ten a foot. I think we are heading down there in a few months

Guess you'll have to get your own boat and spend time on a long waiting list. Maybe not. Get on the waiting list and then get your own boat (you'll have plenty of time to save for the boat's purchase) when availability is imminent.

Re: live on board in San Diego

There are NO waiting lists in San Diego right now. Unless your over 100 ft. You can pretty much get into anywhere........
