Live Aboard to Cruisers

We started our cruising journey Feb 26th but still had work to be done on the boat and need to stay around the Virgin Islands. Now that we are in PR - getting ready to cross the Mona passage tomorrow I finally do not feel like I am just on vacation. I feel like we should be getting home to get back to work! Tomorrows sail will be a full 24 hours. It will be for me the longest sail I have done so far. It will not be my fist night time sail but the first time I will be on my boat with it moving for a solid 24 hours. It is also the intimidation of the big bad Mona! Lets hope the weather man is right and the winds and seas are right for the passage tomorrow! Leaving at 0700.

I will. I started a blog. Maybe not a very good one but it will do!
I have also found that I can get email (and just about anyother web site) on my Kindle using the Whispernet. This is a nice unexpected suprise. It is slower then most but with nothing but time I can wait for the email to upload or web page! It will be nice to always be searching for a connection!

Re: Live aboard to cruisers

So we crossed the Mona - it was awsome! The stars where out and bright. It was and easy sail. All of the built up stress was really for nothing! The sail was about 26 hours - we did another 24 hour sail a couple of days later from Samana DR to Lupron (where we are right now). What a great place Lupron is. Everything is sooo cheap. T & C next. We are thinking about leaving here around Thursday.

I'm not sure I understand that "w" word... I'm looking forward to when I don't have to do that stuff for a while.

Sounds like fun! Enjoy your trip.

Luperon not Lupron, is in the Dominican Republic, on the North Coast.

Luperon is in the DR. A beautiful place. And very cheap to hang for a little while. Lots of cruisers stay there for long periods of time. It is fairly safe for hurricane season and the $$ goes a long way there. :0)

Sounds like fun. I can't wait till I'm living aboard my own boat and doing multi-day cruises.

We are still crusing the ICW! We are in Charleston City Marina right now! I never could have imaged that this trip would be so amazing and fun. I am so glad we are able to do this!!
