I'm living aboard
in False Creek currently. There are a few liveaboard marinas
around, but there are long waiting lists at each one. Personally I have adopted a lifestyle where my sailboat, my rowboat and my bicycle are my only modes of transportation, and consider marinas to be more places for people who need a parking spot for their car... but then again, this is also about to be my first winter onboard, so I may well change my tune.
There's a lot of freedom in living aboard without a marina, though there are also a few downsides - namely the big court case currently in court deciding whether or not the False Creek anchoring
permits are legal
