Info on Sailing and Boats

Not sure on where to start I want to learn how to sail but with all the different type of boats not sure on what to look at I’d like to at one point to be able to sail around the golf cost and sail to the Florida keys and around California but I would like something that goes fast for a sail boat if I like it enough I might try to be a live bored any type of input for key things that would help me out a great deal and right now I am living Missouri plan on going back down to Galveston tx any info around them area would be helpful

I'd start out with some sailing lessons locally.

i going to need to wait for that one lol unless you can count a bathtub learning that way haha i think it be about 3hr or more i belive to get close to a body of watter on where i stay at

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Yes, definitely save up time and money to enroll in sailing lessons. Look on the internet for sailing clubs and yacht clubs close to you to see if there are any that offer lessons. It's too soon in your limited experience to try to pick a boat.
A great source of information is your public library.

I'll second skipper John. Find a yacht club, try crewing some. Skippers are usually helpful.

Thats for the welcome and I plan on try to get certified for that but I am still aways from geting a boat of any type as I lack a way to move one as I dont have a truck only a motorcycle lol but it all come in good time are all yacht clubs the same? id like to try out racing a sail boat how hard is it to be part of a crew to learn and things like that
