hey, yes, i have looked in Tx, but dont know anything about anywhere.. every lsiting i have to mapquest to figure out if i am on the gulf or some lake... hehehehe

The boat prices are about the same, maybe a buck or two cheaper, but again all things being equal, each bat is unique and hard to compare...

I dont know about the 'waters in tx'.. but not real sure about florida that much either, except i recall some good times and good reefs and the water is warm...

I havent been there in decades, and have been in Hawaii, and So. Cal since then...

I am sure that once i get proficient I will be off the hook more then on it... and i am hoping and working to making that happen as quickly as i can.... I will need some peer motivation to get me past a certain point and you all have done that... and it is appreciated...

No offense to those sailing out of Texas, but if I had a choice between living aboard a $9K boat in the Keys and living aboard a $9K boat in Kemah or Galveston... well, it sure is a hell of a lot less wear and tear on the boat sailing from Marathon to the Bahamas.

I don't know about the US but there certainly aren't any here in Europe. Simple fact is that unlike a car auction, it's not practical to get them all in one place for one thing. As far as I know, any 'repo' stock is simply dumped onto the broker market along with the other private sales. There simply isn't the volume in the boat market to warrent a specific boat aution as such. Like I said, keep an eye on Ebay, if you want a bargain, they can sometimes turn up on there.

National Liquidators auctions (weekly) bank repossessions, foreclosures, government seized vessels and brokerage boats. They’ve been around for over 20 years, and have a solid reputation.

Here ➥ Repo Boats & Luxury Yachts For Sale - Boat Liquidators - Yacht Financing

They used to auction of the 'drug boats' in Palma de Mallorca every coupla years or so once the trials were finished to raise money for the fines/costs etc... only problem was the best stuff often got snaffled by 'high ups' ahead of time.
But having said that a local friend got himself a sweet little Westerly Berwick ketch at a great price...

Anything that is worth putting on there is going to be out of his price range and 90% of them are powerboats. The cheapest sailing boat has a $9k starting price.

yea, I saw that one auction site and noticed only two sail boats... (btw, my budget is $15k) but know i dont need to spend it all on a boat...

I saw a 28 ft boat over the weekend, and believe that 30ft, is the limit for me. at least for now... but, from what i can see, most slips are 30ft or less, or much much bigger...

i like that gsa auction site, but no boats there...
