Re: How far do you have to go to have an Adventure ?

I agree with this, off the beaten path, takes a bit of work to get there, but the discovery is worth it.

Gotcha. That joke didn't get as far as I hoped. Clearly, Don kicked my ass on that exchange.

I like the way that Tony B describes adventure. For us it's the unknown risks like.....

....... can Nancie follow me wading around the island without getting her shorts wet?

These are the typical "dangers" that we encounter in adventuring!

Not to overlook that Nancie's bare feet are in crab country.

Not sure about being "cockpit potatos", or even cockpit potatoes, but I do know while some folks think they are the big tuna I always thought of my self as chicken of the sea.

I am almost compulsive about weather windows and getting the anchor set before four PM. Never like to take chances, but still think I am on a great adventure.

I have the same compulsions now that I am older and have power boat.
Not so much when on my Allied 39 mainly because my sailboat cruising was mostly offshore. Inland power boating has it's own set of hazards associated with close quarters.
The 'adventure' is in your head not everyone else's.
Maybe I ought to rename my boat to "Rooster Poot".

Re: How far do you have to go to have an Adventure ?

Usually I read all the posts before I post my answer. But not today. Yesterday I had an adventure in the side yard. My water pump stopped working and we had no water. That's no fun right? So I had to go out there and clean the contacts with sandpaper and then put it back together again. I've done this before. No big deal. But I would rather have had to do it on a boat than here at home.
