That's Dywan! He's up in BPK and has been for a very long time. used to see him at the sugarloaf firehouse every Sunday.
A more mellow and helpful man you will never meet, if you get the chance go up there and tell him Gregory and Audrey P send love

I live in monroe county too . We were talking about the definition of being homeless the other day.. And by law not just monroe county all live aboards are homeless. A boat is not a home according to them. It is a blessing and a curse. I have a UPS store box, doesnt count as a home here.

These are the same law making individuals that are probably displaying signs that read "Home is where the heart is!"

Re: Homeless in the Florida Keys

Just looked at a couple of more videos he has up.

Intresting guy: ex-sponge diver, 40yr alcoholic, 20yrs on the wagon now.

Can't google much on him though - Gord?

One pic/vid shows his boat in water that is so shallow it would seem (looking at the size of it) to be on the bottom. Maybe that is part of the hurricane secret.

Looks like he is doing very well for himself.

I recon he would be right at home herding cats. I just hope the state leave this guy alone and not interfere with his idyllic life style.

I saw a bumper sticker that said, "If you lived in your car you'd be home now."

Re: Homeless in the Florida Keys

Looking at some of the other videos he has on YouTube, I saw one he mentioned that he's a care taker of one of the houses on the shoreline. He's at least doing a little bit of work to keep himself busy. Not bad to be anchored right off from where he works.

You would have to go back to 2005 and follow the anchoring issue and derelict boat issues in the keys. 2500 boats are/where tagged for removal including a 100 foot casino boat. Couple million dollars was funded for there removal in a one time thing from leg. They are going after last known owners. Selling a boat to a bum doesnt get u off the hook anymore. Basically this guy has moved out of the anchorage restriction area far from the mooring field or his "boat" would have been tagged and removed. Like I said the anchoring issue in Florida is a non starter
