Assuming that both these boats are in need of some serious TLC, it is likely that any preparation for new bottom paint will include a fair amount of sanding and scraping of the existing old paint. By law the detritus from these activities cannot enter the waterway, which of course is exactly what happens when you careen to paint.

I'm just trying to do my part to prevent "Global Warming " by preventing the production of the "Deadly POLLUTANT" CO2 otherwise known as carbon dioxide.

I'm trying to breathe slowly and hold my breath as long as possible..... (clunk)...

That's exactly why I asked! I would love to hear of a place where that's okay nearby.

You'll be saddened to know they have outlawed banjo playing as well.

Last week at an open mic, my friend accidentally left his Volvo Wagon unlocked with his vintage Gibson banjo inside... When he remembered, He raced out of the bar and sure enough, when he got to his car... There were three more banjos in the back.

We might be related! My Dad taught me the same thing in California so I thought it was a west coast thing.

UM, NO port in the PNW allows sanding and the like. In Alaska you can dry out and slap on a coat of paint, but that it all. If something goes in the water you will get a fine and it's been that way quite a long time.

AND in Tacoma you're actually not even allowed to scrub the bottoms. And copper pain't been outlawed going forward.
