I can't imagine they are able to convert. The heater is a totally different set-up for diesel to propane.... the only thing original would be the name plate on the front.

Yeah, actually propane has been about $1.29/gal all summer. Now went up to $1.49 most place here north of Seattle.
The real problem with propane is carrying and refilling the cylinders all the time. OP: Get a couple 20# cylinders and go!
