That's an interesting movie. You can stream it on Netflix too.

Just watched a brillant movie called "Life of Pi" about being stranded at sea in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger. Most astounding film.

This was on last night. It was already half over and I didn't want to ruin the ending so I only watched a little. From what I saw it looks like a good one!

I don't think anyone has mentioned "Longitude" with Jeremy Irons and Michael Gambon. It's a high seas adventure of the 18th century discovery of how to calculate longitude.

Thanks nolagal, I read the book ages ago and it was a brilliant book. A "must have" for any ship's library! I didn't know there was a movie, I'll check it out the now...

The book called "Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time" is by Dava Sobel. It is about John Harrison, the inventor of the Chronometer and Greenwich Mean Time.

Interesting. Anyway, all it said was that if you haven't found it by now there's a huge thread entitled "all is lost" in the fun and entertainment forum.

It seems most sailors hate the movie; most non-sailors love it. Enjoy!

Found it. Thanks. Looks like from the comments that it is not going to be on the "Good" Boat Movies list for most here..

Thanks a lot for mentioning this. Excellent (made for TV, which these days doesn't necessarily mean bad) movie, well worth watching all 3 hours 20 min of it.
