Re: Galley Ventilation

Most interesting. I got two Air Only's and fans, and two Nicro day/nights. I have yet to install them.

It sounds like I might need a little more too.

Got a pic of your boat with those 10 cowls?

Re: Galley Ventilation

I'll see if I can dig one up.
There not all cowls.
Starting from the stem it goes like this
2 mushrooms for v berth (one is a Nicro day night that will move to the head soon and be replaced with another air only)
2 cowls in Salon
2 mushrooms that are tied into the bilge via duct and will end up with fans
1 mushroom over galley
1 mushroom in head (will become the Nicro)
2 mushrooms in aft 1 tied to aft bilges one pulls air through closet.
2 cowls

By bad I guess that's 11 air only and one Nicro. I'd say the air only is not bad compared to a Nicro when there's no fan running. But they still move less air.
My old cowls pumped the air in when there was a breeze up. These trickle air in.
I'm happy with my decision to use them and they have proved water tight when required. I've placed them in a manner that both improves the overall ventilation in the boat significantly as we'll as minimizes the effect on deck. (They have not proved to be in my way.)
Cheers
