When I started driving in the EU on the opposite side of the road, I had concerns that I would forget the correct side when I got back to the UK I was told it wouldnt be a problem.

Scarily, I find myself having to constantly question which side I should now be driving on and sometimes find it a challenge to work it out in a split second

Everything was perfectly planned and perfectly stowed until the first night on board when we realized we needed a place to put the socks and underwear we just took off. Don't forget to make plenty of places for Laundry, trash, garbage and recycle-ables. Boat designers never provide nearly enough.

Congrats Buhrly. I only gets better. Can't wait till we move back aboard. I sleep better in an anchorage full of weekenders on short scope than I do on land.

Congratulations, I look forward to full time live aboard as well. Right now, we’re aboard Friday and Saturday nights and back to town late Sunday. We sail most weekends, year round, up and down the North Sea and a couple of times a year we take a few week’s cruising the Channel Islands, the Med, the Canaries, whatever takes our fancy, wherever we find favourable winds.
Every once in a while, we cross the pond to go back to the Chesapeake, one of our most loved places to catch up with our friends in Washington DC and Baltimore then back to the UK.
But in a perfect world, we would live aboard full time, belong to no place in particular, go where the weather is better, go where the winds want us to go, and just enjoy full time that wonderful feeling you get as soon as you step on board of living on a nicer planet, being in a nicer place, being surrounded by nicer people, being the master of your own little universe.
I envy you, but one of these days….
