First Night as Liveaboards

Well last night was different as it was the first night spent aboard as liveaboards. After months of downsizing and downsizing some more here we are. Woke up after a great sleep gently rocking and listening to the rain sprinkle on the boat. Oh how sweet!

Re: First Night

Four more sleeps for me before I make my move aboard.
I sat in the wheelhouse this afternoon listening to the rain on the roof and I smiled to myself for I felt so relaxed and forgot the vexations which have plagued me for many weeks

Best feeling in the world...
Snug in your bunk with your morning cuppa listening to the patter of rain on the coachroof.... "Ahhh... guess I'll read another couple of chapters..."

Re: First Night

Buhrly,
You do realize that sound carries long distances across water, right? Well, last night your snoring was shaking our windows up here in Vancouver!

Re: First Night

I remember all the new noises. And then the first storm which made the normal noises seem like nothing.

Re: First Night

I prefer sleeping on the water than to sleeping on the hard. I feel closer to the world & nature. Best sleep evar.

Oh, and welcome OP to the New World of life on the water.

Re: First Night

Congrats! You've now been a liveaboard for 24 hours! And after 9 years living aboard fulltime, I can say, it just keeps getting better from here.

Re: First Night as Liveaboards

I remember waking up after our first night aboard too, but I think you guys are doing better. I rolled over from a sound sleep to look down and see my shoes floating above the bilge ceiling. This is when I learned that some heads were plumbed below the waterline and turning off valves could be critical! With your head start you could go far!
