I just caught this thread. Twisty, you havn't posted since January. I hope you're still around and didn't buy the wood boat. I remember really big bills at the end of my every two year haulout with a wood boat. You must haulout each two years in the tropics to stay ahead of the shipworms when you choose wood.
Since I'm a sailor and don't like using fuel I won't comment on powerboats. I don't know them.
I do know wood boats and wouldn't have one that size no matter what unless I could afford to hire someone to do the maintenance on the wood. I can't afford that.
