Dog Island Anguilla

We are in St Martin lagoon and looking to depart for the BVI. The distance is just a tad further than my comfort zone for a day sail, given the seemingly tricky arrival pilotage. Chief Pretty Officer is as ever unenthusiastic about overnight and a wee hours departure looks problematic with the bridge openings.
I was looking at Dog Island Anguilla as a departure point, which shaves a useful 15 miles off the trip. Doyle says it's rolly and forbidden to overnight but much of Doyle is out of date and there are plenty of Caribbean rules made for breaking, as St Martin tends to symbolise to a "t". Has anyone been there recently and stayed overnight?

Re: Dog Island Anguilla

I'd catch the last bridge out and enjoy a relaxing overnighter. Drop anchor outside the bridge till sunset. Nice conditions for a few days and nearly a full moon 🌝
