Mangrove Marina, mile marker 91 in Tavernier in the Upper Florida Keys and a marina at 117-199 Ocean Dr, Key Largo, FL 33037 (I don't know its name, but it is DIY and live aboard at mile marker 100 or so)... I'm about to buy a live aboard at Mangrove, so I've been looking. Good luck!

This the one in Key Largo?

KEY LARGO HARBOR MARINA

This might also be helpful.

Re: DIY MIAMI

The one I'm thinking of is due east, about three city blocks, along the same canal... a bit more ramshackle than Key Largo Harbor Marina.

Re: DIY Mami

Manatee bay marine inc. about mm 112 had my boat there for the last 8 months. Very good and very nice. The rates are cheap. It's a full do it your self yard. I also draft 5'2" and can get in and out. Must stay in center of Chanel though... Good luck

Here's what we have down so far. This is a before and after pic. Even changed the halyards from external to internal and rebuilt the mast head systems to LED Click image for larger version

DIY Mami? I want one of those too. If you find one that enjoys prepping for bottom paint, give me a call!

Re: DIY Miami

Thanks for all the replies. I have 7 feet draft so I think there are problems in Key Largo. and towards north up to Fort Pierce?

Re: DIY Mami

With a 7' ft draft you can rule out most of the Keys. Good luck on your search.

Re: DIY Mami

Used to be a place called hurricane cove on the river. Had a topless boat painting woman also, probably gone now. Last there in early 2004.

Re: DIY Mami

Hurricane Cove on the Miami River fits the bill. It's not pretty but a lot of work gets done there.
Boatguy, the topless lady painted the name on my boat a few years ago. She's getting older but has held up well.

Don't forget Hopkins-Carter for marine supplies while you're in Miami!

Re: DIY Mami

We like Playboy Marine You can do all the work yourself and the people are very nice there. If you need a contractor you have to use one of their approved licensed guys. Which we had them do our bottom paint and they did a great job.

Good luck! Not really Miami but worth the sail up there
