Re: Disabled Veteran needs advice

Brian,

Does it have to be a hospital? Can you use a CBOC (community based outpatient clinic)? If yes then VA has locations in the US Virgin Islands.

However this pans out for you, there are probably a good number of veterans(like me), who are concerned how well the VA Healthcare works with veterans who have a "Gypsy", or transient lifestyle ... like ... no permanent home.

Re: Disabled Veteran needs advice

Thanks, I've seen them down there. I'm currently being seen at a small Brooksville VA clinic in Florida temporarily. I was supposed to be on traveling status but because one doctor put a note in saying they thought I was moving down here to buy a house all my previous doctors let me go and told me to get treatment wherever I was buying a house even though I told them I was traveling they went with the one doctor that I met only once. There is quite a waiting list, it's not like you can just go in and get your meds or be seen. I was told there was a six month waiting list here but because I'm a hundred percent they got me right in so I was only without meds for 2 months (not fun)

Re: Disabled Veteran needs advice

A lot of people have put really good links listings on this thread even VA documents and numbers so that if you're traveling without an address there's no way they can stop paying our benefits it's mainly if they're mailings medication
