Cruising Costs for a Cruising Couple

G'day, mate. Just 2 of us aboard here. Ditto with Heyniceguy's comments. Been averaging roughly $2,000 a month for 14 years now, fully insured (health, boat, & cars) and fly internationally at least once a year. Do most of the maintenance ourselves. Good on ya for deciding to go now!! Cheers.

It all depends on where you want to cruise.

$3000 a month in the UK would be hard. In St Tropez, France you would need twice that at least just to be called poor!

But in the Islands of the Pacific you could live very well indeed. And in the Indian Ocean you could live like a king and have all the servants/elephants you want!!

Marina costs vary so much too. From 1,000's of dollars a week in St Tropez to $100 a year for a wharf in Newfoundland

There is no hard rule except that it tends to cost whatever your land life costs you. Just some costs are substituted with others. We drag our lifestyles with us.

I think if 3k is what you live on now, it will be enough when cruising too.
