Question Corpus Christi Liveaboards

I'm looking for others that are liveaboards in the Corpus Christi area. We are moving aboard in the next few months and would like to know of any others in our area.

We are new to this...new to sailing..new to the lifestyle. Why do things the hard way when we can talk to experienced liveaboards?

Thanks!!

Jeniffer

Welcome Jennybug!
We're not liveaboard yet, but working on it. On the hard in Rockport. Have any prospects for your new home yet? If you need help looking, give me a holler.....

We are in the process of purchasing a Hunter 45 - Our offer has been accepted and HOPEFULLY the boat will arrive in Florida in the next day or two from St. Maarten (I think I spelled that right). It's a 1999, one owner with everything we wanted and then some. Can you tell I am excited? Hurry up and get your boat so we can be dock mates. LOL

Thanks for the offer though!!!

Where in FL is she? Are you bringing her back to Texas? If so I can recommend a really inexpensive and reliable mover who also has good rates in the workyard, on the hard.

If you are not already familiar with Living Aboard Magazine you might find it at a book store or marine outlet it has a lot of articles on that lifestyle, what else!
They may have a website.
Good luck

Thanks Steve - already a happy subscriber to Living Aboard magazine. After some negotiating the owner agreed to sail her to Corpus Christi. The boat was near the coast of Puerto Rico a week ago Monday...still hasnt arrived in Florida. We've kept a pretty close eye on the weather and it's been very quiet..so hopefully all is well. The owner wants to have all of the paper work finalized by 10/15 but I think that will be cutting it really close.

Just cant wait to see our new home :-)

We are living aboard in Island Moorings in Port Aransas. It is a great marina and fairly easy to get out into the gulf for day sailing. I would highly recommend Island Moorings.

Hi Meck,
We have been to the Moorings several times. It's a great marina with it's pool, sauna and facilities. We have to stick with the Corpus marina because we commute from Alice. We have heard that it's sometimes difficult to get out of Port Aransas because the waterway needs dredging. Just one more thing we have to consider when we explore the area.

Found out today that the boat is in the Florida Keys. woohoo This time next week we might be in St. Petersburg getting some hands on experience. CANT WAIT!!!!

Thanks!!!

Jen, there's a group in CC that gets together pretty regularly. Mark and Julie are on E pier, refitting their boat. She works at West Marine - which can be very helpful.

Don't know what your Hunter draws, but Island Moorings is especially dicey in the winter.

Good news,
The boat finally arrived in St.Petersburg and we are now waiting for the broker to set up a viewing. I hope we can visit this weekend - already have my hopes up actually. "Sigh" We are getting nervous now...is that normal??
