I hope I am doing this picture attaching correctly now (thank you for the tutorial!) Here's what our tree looked liked after the 24+ inches of snow this weekend. We have a tarp around the cockpit, but the snow blew right in. Festive but brrrrrrrr!

Your response was about a comment on my original post which highlighted that so many of the Christian festivities were actually timed to correspond with pagan festivals.
The fact that those pagan religions are no longer widely folloed will not change the fact.

Any celebration that promotes friendship and family is worthwhile(whatever religion).

My beliefs are strongly held and rooted in a form of Christianity, but I have no intention of trying to impose them on anybody - in fact I have no intention of even sharing them with anybody! This does not mean I am jaded, just that these are privately held.

Thus in accordance with my statement two paragraphs ago, I have no hesitation of wishing everyone on here (whatever their religion) - a Happy Christmas.

Just came across this thread. Thanks for the great ideas. We may try the 'mast' tree next year; along with the advent calendar.

This year, 'Victoria Rose' sported a small artificial tree, secured to post. Sailed several miles, including 48 hours of a really bumpy ride across the Sea of Cortez. Anyway, here's our contribution:

Whats christmas without a tree. We always get a tree and decorate the boat. We by a full size tree at IKEA and cut the top 3 ft off. Always gets some stares in the parking lot. We put it in a bucket of water and tie it up as well. The kids love decorating it. A tree....for sure. Merry Christmas.
