Domicile: the place where one has one's permanent home or where a corp. has it's headquarters or principal place of business; the place with which one is associated for taxing & voting purposes. One can have many residences, but only one domicile. One who's domicile is in a particular place is said to be domiciled there.
Residence: In some contexts, same as domicile. Any place where one lives for a significant period of time. A person may have several residences, i.g., a suburban home, a summer
cabin, and an apartment in the city. In contrast, no person has more than one domicile, which is a residence that a person considers to be his/her permanent home. Random House
