Re: Before you Start Laughing ... or Crying

Being the boat is a warm climate boat its probable not cold climate ready, heating, water, sanitation. Also not only pay for the transportation but up grading the boat. Also YOU are probable not ready to be a live aboard in the cold/freezing weather. In the Seattle are 75% of newbies do not make it through the first year, and those of use that do have spend thousand improving the boat, and we have a good basic idea/.knowledge of to expect.

So leave or sell the boat in Florida. Then if you want to be a live aboard at least talk to the live a boards and buy a boat that is cold climate ready.

Take the boat to Detroit and live on it till the snow flies then wrap it and store on the hard until spring; pull it out of storage and live aboard until you see snow again. That way you only need to rent a room for a few months and avoid all the other heart ache.

Re: Before you Start Laughing ... or Crying

Might want to take a trip up there and see if you like living with the people in Detroit. I live in California but have worked at Cape Canaveral and the people are so much friendlier in Florida.

I thought about relocating but decided against it because of the money. Still not sure I made the right decision but 11 years to late now.

Sure don't miss the humidity or the mosquitoes.
