I did find this: LiveAboards - Life on the hook and at the dock but it looks like it hasn't been updated in almost 6 years.

I'm still interested in looking at putting something together, and the wife and I have added it to our list of things to look at, so I will continue to update this...

...Assuming there is still some interest out there, anyways.

I'm in

We could use a mailing list as a starting point for an association. We are tied up in Nanaimo and we have a feeling this place is not that friendly towards live aboards.

There is an extensive thread about Nanaimo's unfriendliness.

One offensive step could be to call 'Live Aboards: Work Aboards' or anything else that would become a good defense by the second or third step.

The other people could be called 'Die Aboards'.

We definitely need a unified voice. The real estate industry definitely have one, attacking alternatives to paying homage to them. Let me know if you get anything started.

anyone interested in this topic should join the group that i created. if the interest warrants it i would like to register a bcliveaboards domain name and establish and actual presence. All the whining and complaining in the world will not get us anywhere i for one think its time to join forces and make our stand.

Cool thread, we live aboard in False Creek. I was speaking to an employee of Steveston Marine who lives aboard, who is trying to do something similar. He's just recently created this website.

Welcome to BCLiveaboard.com

Sorry, I don't quite understand this response. If the point was my incorrect breaking up of the compound word, point taken.

Yeah! I'm with you. I'm in. Lets stick it to the Man!
Hey Mike, are You aboard full time? Haven't seen you for a while. I'm over on "A" Dock now, maybe that explains it. Stop by for a beer some time.

I ran into Simon (the site owner) in the marine store over the weekend. He says that he could really use some help with the administration and set up, so if there's anyone willing and able to help, send him an email.
