I am so glad all is ok now. It is an intrusion into your personal stuff & makes you feel violated. I haven't been on CF all that long but it feels like family (however dysfunctional). Hope whoever did it gets the message to stay away. I got a boat to avoid all that stuff.

Hey Atoll!...
You've been absent for a while.

I don't ever have to worry about being a castaway with this group- you'd track me down on that deserted island!
(and then make me pay for not posting enough! )

Atoll, have you made your sacrifice to Poseidon?

Tiresias told Odysseus that after he returned to Ithaca, that he must take a well-made oar and walk inland with it until someone asked him why he carried a winnowing-fan on his back. At that place, he was to make a sacrifice to Poseidon.

apart from having very limited sea food here, there is an awsome selection of sausage and smoked meat, getting very fit hauling logs to keep the 3 wood burners going,i expect to be here for at least the next 4-6 weeks, unless i get cabin fever , abducted by aliens, seduced and held in bondage by sex starved big boned slavic women......or all of the above..........really not missing pounding to windward on the delivery of my buddies yacht to the caribean as was planned.......much.....will post photos...of big boned women leading oxen ...as a sacrifice to posidon......

Re: A Formosa in 'Paradise' Is Being Messed with

zee,

If someone not-so-good had access to your computer, it's possible (not likely but possible) that they've installed a key logger program. This can copy your new passwords as you type them and send them to the hacker as fast as you change them. Key loggers are getting harder and harder to spot. Many antivirus programs can't see them.

You might want to consider using an on-screen keyboard when typing your passwords - at least until things quiet down. The keyloggers can't see the mouse movements when you use an on-screen keyboard. In Windows you can find it under Accessories / Ease of Access / On Screen Keyboard. In OSX it's under International / Input Sources.

I always use this when on a public internet terminals. These are notorious for having keyloggers.

Just so you know, Zee, there a fair number of us who care for you and worry when you have a problem whether computer related or otherwise. Be assured that we will do what we can to help if you get in to a bind... cheers, Capt Phil

Zee, you might want to download and install a security program such as Trustee Rapport. If you do business with a bank or financial institution that offers a free security program, download and install it. It will protect your system from key loggers.
