thanks everyone for your kind words.

I wouldn't consider Italy a 3rd world country, Southern Italy and especially Sicily has always been the poor South (south of Rome starts Africa that's what they say in the N of Italy) and an economic crisis hasn't helped to change that. But as said in this htread you see a lot of expensive cars and boats...someone has the money!
Same in Greece btw. It's not broke....

Noonsite doesn't seem to have much up-to-date information in my opinion.
I would check more than one source for sure
World Cruising and Sailing Wiki - a Cruising Guide on the World Cruising and Sailing Wiki is pretty good and we all can help to actually make it really good by registering and updating the information with what we find.
That'll help us all to be better informed
