pirate 1987 Laguna 26' - for a Liveaboard

hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any information about the Laguna 26' 1987. I look on the internet but cant seem to find much. My mom used to live on a Seafarer 26' 1977 for 5 years but sold it and is now looking at buying the Laguna 26' to live on. Any advice or any info that you could give would be great-thanks so much.

btw the boat would need to be able to sail down to the carribbean if wanted.

What do you want to know? I can find several pages of links to specs just by googling laguna 26....
looks like a trailersailor to me, tough trip the the carribbean from the mississippi delta, or even from key west.

specs

thanks for the response. I google the laguna and it tells me the basics about, but i haven't found anything that goes into to detail about the designer, shane turner i think. or how the boats were built or any reviews on them. the seafarer 26' has much more information available.

Do you know which boat would be better as a liveaboard for a short woman by herself (5'2")?

Would the Seafarer be able to make it to the carribean easier than the Laguna and if so why? thanks again.

We are going to look at the boat on sunday so responses are greatly greatly appreciated

If a good sea boat is what's wanted, in that size range.....contessa 26
if a good live aboard that can be sailed to the caribbean.......Catalina 30, hunter 30, on and on

ok thats cool. So from your experience neither the Seafarer or the Laguna could make it to the caribbean very easily. Thats really what i am trying to find out- Because my mom is looking for either another Seafarer like she had before or another comparable boat.. there is a Laguna close by and it looks comparable to the Seafarer in functionality for livingaboard.

All opinions are valued.

Thanks!!

Probably too late on this but i own a seafarer 26 and it is a very capable boat. Go look at the capsize ratio of any of the other boats mentioned and you will have your answer. Your mom is right to pick this boat. The are solid and stable. You can get one easily around 5 to 8k. All the best
