Re: 1 Year Cruising Anniversary

Congrats.
I have read many of your monthly posts, and seems like you are generally within budget..Do you have a total year sum..your budget would suggest 36K as the total, I am just interested how all of the months came out as a yearly total, and if you think you could have easily done better? How would you rate your life aboard as compared to your life on land..Did you eat out and entertain yourself (movies, etc.) nearly as much as you would have on land? Or did you try to live extremely different/frugal in your attempt to make this all work out? I am sure the availability of said entertainment could have been a bit more difficult and that could have been a driving reason, or just less overall "boredom" while cruising prevented you from needing as much entertainment as some require on land while working. Just curious..

Re: 1 Year Cruising Anniversary

Congrats SB!
Thank you for posting your monthly. We are about 10 months from casting off the lines, so I appreciate you sharing your factual expenses.
Good advice on the installs and stuff, we're weighing the pros of each new thing we think we "need".
I wish you Fair winds and interesting destinations for year two.
Aloha

Nice one Don.. fully agree with your 'Stuff' comments 👍
To the guy trying to quit the head for a meal and beer after a few days at sea..
Why?? Its a celebration of arrival and useful for gathering local info..
Unwind.. you earned it.. just keep it to the 1st night.. after that you'll have fresh supplies to use.

Re: 1 Year Cruising Anniversary

I wonder how does the size of the boat feel after a year?
