Re: Sailing Solo Around The World

I saw a sailboat on TV and it seemed cool, so I want to do a solo circumnavigation. I want to start next week.

I already got a Barrett 50BMG rifle and a Swiss Army knife for self-defense against pirates. How many rounds do I need for the rifle and what size knife sharpener do you recommend?

Do sailboats have manual or automatic transmissions? I'm hoping automatic because I don't know how to drive a manual. I think I heard that the pointy end of the boat has a special name. Is that the front or the back? I don't know because I'm not sure if the one I saw on TV was in forward or reverse.

Has anyone ever done a solo circumnavigation the first time they got in a boat? Would I be the first? Can I do it in less than a week? If I'm gone for longer than that, my school might call my mom.

Methinks that your priorites are rather iffy. Yes, you can have the weapons, be it bazooka or heavily honed knife, yes transmission is sort of important, especially in the rush hour traffic back to the marina, but you have completely omitted the most important statistic. This proves that you are a novice at this, so THE salient question is, "How many buckets do you have"?

Yes, that was me! I started the thread on Oragami boats doing RTW via islands which grow rice paper for repairs.

You'll remember I was the one who had the smoking problem....

A bong is a water pipe for marijauna. I guess a bong-tree might be a large water pipe with multiple branches for several people to share.

A Bong Tree shares the same forest as a Money Tree. Find one, you find both and you can live very happily forever.

Anyone thinks he might finish the circumnavigation this year?
