sailing palm beach to savannagh

hi again ,
i must sail my 50 foot ketch from palm beach up to isle of hope marina off wassaw sound.
1. i am single handed so would i be better hiring a crew and completing in two days or meandering up single handed in 5 x 70 day hops.tropical depressions and early august return to europe are considerations.if i meander can somebody suggest stopovers with easily navigable inlets.??

2. does anybody have experience of entering wassaw sound to wilmington river as fully laden i draw approx 6' 6".advised thet sand bars at ocean will be an issue.??

thank you.

If you are interested in doing the inside look at our website since we are covering that area right now. We draw 6 feet.

They keep that channel pretty well marked. Find the sea buoy and go for it. They bring the mega-yachts in there, many with a 14-15' draft.

Nice marina; friendly people; took us by car to dinner. It is far away from anything. We havn't been there for 4+years. The inlet should be no problem at all, they take mega-yachts into Thunderbolt all the time. You may be exposed to some storms this Summer. The last tropical storm brushed the coast just North of Charleston today.
