Re: sailing from st.martin to cartagena

That's an easy one. Draw a straight line from St Martin to Cabo de la Velo on the northeastern coast of Columbia and follow it. You will have the trade winds behind your beam the whole way.
- - From Cabo del la Velo use the Columbian Cruising Guide - available on the internet - and cruise to Cartagena. See: CRUISING THE COAST OF COLUMBIA

When you get there enter through Boca Grande in the daylight, my chart plotter was off by 100 yds and there have been boat attacks in Boca Chica at night.

En-route you can stop off in Aruba.

Re: sailing from st.martin to cartagena

Lasgt year we had hoped to ride those trades once we rounded the east end of Jamaica. It was not to be. It was a steady beat until we were within sight of Cololmbia. BEST WISHES on a quick & smooth sleigh ride.......i2f
