Sailing BVI Late September

Hello, was already to book in BVI
have not called the base yet,
but i saw that the wind goes from 15-25
to 5-15 on average, seems concerning to me
moreso then the climate season,
any thoughts from anyone that has sailed this time frame
thanks,

Re: SAILING BVI LATE SEPTEMBER

It's absolutely fine all year 'round. You have to watch for hurricanes closely during the season, but there's usually plenty of time to avoid them.

Temperatures only vary by 5 degrees F winter to summer. Winds are a bit lighter in the summer and tend more from the E and ESE, while in winter they take a more northerly slant from the E and ENE, with the occasional norther (the so-called "Christmas Winds").

Bottom line: September is fine.

Re: SAILING BVI LATE SEPTEMBER

Winds can be light at any time of year, but generally they aren't. And, as I said, they're generally stronger in the winter and lighter in summer.

You can never be sure, of course, but the averages are with you.

I don't know where you saw the 5-15, but I'd not pay much attention to it (based on over 40 years of sailing down there, much of it in the summer months).
