Princess Royal Island (East Side)

Hey all, I'm a newbie to sailing but I have my eye on going up the East side of Princess Royal Island in British Columbia and was wondering if anyone here has done it? I can't find any information on it but looking at it on Home Port it looks to be about 60nm long and less than 1nm wide most of the way so if it's like any of the other channels I've been in further south I'd say it might be tough to do in a sailboat with a weak engine. I REALLY want to go there though, the island itself is beautiful from what I've seen in videos and I can imagine it's even better in real life. Anyone been there? What's the usual route from the Lower Mainland area to, say, Prince Rupert?
