Even in a delivery, assuming the
boat has a
mast height above
water of less than 63 feet - traveling outside and inside is the normal
route. When
weather is good, outside is shorter and faster. But when the
weather is bad you can still make miles north using the
ICW instead of laying idle waiting for the next acceptable weather.
- - Be sure to have the
ICW chartbook and guides, which are especially important for up to date locations of services and assistance,
anchorages, and dockage along your journey.
- - It is also highly advisable to make sure the
boat has Towing
Insurance from BoatUS and/or SeaTow so that should something happen you will not get involved in a raft of hassles and problems.
