Key West to Quebec

We're considering a cruise from Key West to Quebec and back. Our mast height is 50' and our draft is 5'. Before I invest in charts and guides, can anyone tell me what bridge and draft problems north of Albany that I would have to address?

Re: Key West to Quebec

Thank you for the quick reply GordMay. If I don't have to unstep/restep my mast too many times, we're really keen on making the trip to Quebec next spring - Ron

Re: Key West to Quebec

It's normally only done once.
Unstep your mast, and secure it as deck cargo, transit the Lakes to Locks Passage, then re-step the mast.

Re: Key West to Quebec

Thanks again for the super speedy reply. Our plan is to sail from Key West in late Apr early May 2012, transit the Hudson to St Lawrence in late June & July, spend part of July/Aug in Quebec City and then head slowly south Aug/Sept/Oct/Nov. All bets are off if US Govt opens Cuba in which case we'll head there for 6 mos and do Quebec in 2013.
Thanks & Regards, Ron
