Jamaica to Brazil

Hi,
Im looking for opinions whether negative or postive. If I were to set sail from Montego Bay Jamaica on November 1st could I make it to Rio in Brazil and which route would you take? Jamaica to the Azores (but how?) and then south to Cape Verde and across. Or sail to Trinidad and follow the coast of north-east South America staying close to shore in shallower waters where hopefully the current wouldnt be as strong and would be able to pull into shore to rest when needed. Or to the Antilles and wait until March for a depression in the north atlantic with more northerly winds to go as far east as possible and then head south. Or should I wait until March/April to sail to Azores, south to Cape Verde and then across to Rio.
Thank you! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for the link! Is it feasible to sail to the Azores in November?

Re: Jamaica to Brazil

Azores pretty iffy unless a big strong boat with crew to match.

The other route upwind.

Why not a jet?

Get to St Martin the head NE till over the Gulf Stream.. then hang a right and ride the SW'lies and counter currents E till nearing (500n odd miles off) Madiera when you bear right again down to the Canaries..
