Isla Mujeres to USVI

Hello everyone, I am getting some preliminary information about this route. I am ordering the Van Stant book and Pilot Chart, but I would like to get possibly 1st hand information from people who may have done it. I know there was a thread similar (Belize to BVI) but it was 6 years ago.

The reason I'm asking is, I plan on entering the Regata al Sol (Pensacola to Isla Mujeres) in May 2016 and will be getting married in St Thomas at the end of June. My fiancee and I would love for the boat to be in St Thomas during our time there.

That said, is it possible to get there in that time frame going direct? I understand it would be a beat against the Trades. How long would it take?

I'd be using my boat, Redemption, which is a 47' cutter, 30k displacement fin keel. I have 250g water and 75g fuel.

Regards,

Ronnie
