Grand Bahama to Sea of Abaco

Ok, if I am in Freeport, do I take the Grand Lucayan Waterway to the bank and stay on the bank to the Sea of Abaco or do I head to the Berry Islands and then go around Abaco at the Hole in the Wall at the south tip of Abaco and head north?

They say there's five feet in the waterway so as far as draft goes you might be alright. There used to be a 27 foot fixed bridge there so that might cause some consternation. I have never gone this route but I'd check with the locals first. If you can't get through the waterway I'd go around West End and onto the Little Bahama Bank and then to Great Sale and then on to the Abacos.

Just read an article where they say the Causarina Bridge is 35 feet high. (Maybe they deepened the canal ) If you're not a power cat you're going to have to go around.

Yes the bridge is too low, and the water is only 3-4 feet in some places after you leave the cannel on the N sidem
I used to go this way with my Trawler a few years back

Got it. 8.3 meter fixed bridge on the chart about 1/3 of the way through the channel.

Thanks all.
