What, in everyone's opinions, are the world's easiest cruising waters? I would characterize easy as: a steady moderate wind, little current, and tons of sheltered anchorages but feel free to use your own criteria as well.

Well ya lost us with the steady moderate winds and the little currents...but it really is a pretty easy place to sail....most of the time

Having Cruised all the seas and oceans at some time - The waters of South East Asia have extraordinary anchorages (for FREE!!) Good food if you go ashore, Good communication systems, Repairs and parts very easy to obtain at very reasonable prices. Safe. The endless list contains mainly positives.

If you don't wish to roam as far as the SE Asian waters, the BVI is another location which combines amenable weather, beautiful beaches, easy sailing. I hesitate to mention 'good food' since that term is rarely used in sentences also containing the word 'British' but let me add that after a day of sailing and frolicking in the sun -everything- tastes good. Also, if you don't have a passport you can stay in the USVI next door, which is almost, but not quite, as good.

In South Asian Waters while proclaiming the best varieties of different cuisines,
many cruisers will miss the quintessential British Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding - served often on a Sunday lunch, this epitome of comfort food is often available.

Hey UnBusted! Since you're from Pittsburg, dont overlook the Chesapeake. Winds are fluky in Summer, but it's a wonderful cruising ground with TONS of tremendous anchorages. Not many grass skirted island girls though...

French Riviera - no tides or currents, lots of wonderful anchorages, light (often too light but sometimes not!) winds, fantastic food ashore.

You'll stay out of marinas because of the cost! But we did and had our cheapest three months ever in 2008.

What about some of coastal New England? I know the currents aren't so hot but there are plenty of historical anchorages and somewhat steady winds.

Bahamas: spectacular crystal clear water, hundreds of islands with everything from party towns to completely deserted islands, mostly shallow sand bottom anchorages, coral reefs, prevailing easterly winds, easy island/anchorage hopping daysails. You need to watch for fronts in the winter and tropical storms in the summer, but you can explore the Bahamas for a long time and you may never want to leave.
