Costa Rica in January

Don't suppose anyone here will be cruising around Costa Rica in late January? Especially the west coast of it?

Me and my girl will be down there on vacation for a couple weeks starting on the 18th. We looked at sailing tours etc and their prices and it is depressing and out of our league, especially if we are saving for cruising ourselves.

If any of you wonderful people are there between Jan 18th and Feb 2nd we'd love to go on a daysail or overnighter and learn a few things, get a taste of the cruising life first hand.

We could pay our way, we just can't afford the rates down there of 500$ per person at the very cheapest just for a day sail. It would add a grand to our holiday and put us that much further back on our own cruising plans (The vacation has been booked forever and can't be unbooked to save the money )

I would also be happy to have you stay with us for a night if you are on the west coast of Costa Rica. It's a small apartment we rented that has the main bedroom and a loft. If for some reason you'd want to get off the boat for an evening this could be a good trade as well. The apartment is a lovely little place in the jungle and close to everything, but not crowded among a bunch of other houses. Don't think it has laundry but I do have a small 4x4 waiting for me down there so we could drive anywhere you liked!
